Huacachina: A Hidden Village in the Middle of a Stunning Desert
When hearing the word desert, the first thing that comes to mind for many people is a number of areas in Africa, Mongolia and the Middle East region, even though South America is also an area with many deserts, one of which is in Peru where 10% of the country is a desert area.

This village is built around a small natural desert lake commonly referred to as Oasis Oasis found in Huakachina village is also the only natural oasis in the American era which according to local beliefs mud and water in the oasis can be used for therapy That is why many locals or tourists often bathe by covering themselves with mud in an attempt to cure diseases such as arthritis, rheumatism, asthma and bronchitis.

According to legend, the name huakachina means a little boy who shouted, this name was taken because it is said that there was a prince who turned into a male merman after swimming in the Oasis and was chased by young women because of his good looks, But outside of this legend there are several other versions that are also believed by local people, the village which has a permanent population of about 100 people is able to accommodate tens of thousands of tourists who come every year, even Wakacina Village was also chosen as Favorite place by 5 citizens to relax from the hustle and bustle of the big city on weekends.
In addition to its uniqueness, the attraction of this village is the sport of Saint boarding with Saint boarding, visitors can enjoy the thrill of the desert while sliding using a board from the top of the dunes, unfortunately even though it looks beautiful, the future of Huakachina Lake is in a threatened condition, water levels that consistently continue to decrease, making people try to increase their water by draining water from other sources. This effort certainly costs a lot of money, so that maintaining the beauty of this Oasis is definitely an effort that is not easy for the surrounding community.
